Focused evaluation and imaging in Millburn
On-site X-raysonly when clinically indicated.
A careful history and examination come first. When imaging is needed, X-rays can be taken in the Millburn office to help evaluate structure, rule out concerns, and guide recommendations.
The clinical purpose
Imaging should answer a clinical question.
X-rays can provide useful information about bones, alignment, degeneration, prior injury, and certain structural concerns. They do not show every soft-tissue or nerve problem, and they should not replace a complete examination.
Who it may help
Conditions and goals that may be evaluated.
Recent trauma
A fall, collision, or other mechanism may increase concern for bone injury.
Persistent or unusual symptoms
Duration, severity, age, or examination findings may support imaging.
Structural or degenerative questions
X-rays can help evaluate selected alignment, arthritic, or bony changes.
Treatment planning
Imaging may affect whether and how certain procedures are performed.
How it works
What happens during the evaluation.
The visit begins with history, goals, and a focused physical examination. If X-rays are justified, Dr. Kaiser explains why, which views are needed, and how the findings may affect the recommendation.
- Review of pain pattern, onset, trauma, and health history
- Orthopedic, neurological, posture, and movement findings as appropriate
- Imaging only when the expected information may affect care
- Explanation of findings and next-step options
Important context
What X-rays cannot show
Standard X-rays are best for bones and certain structural changes. They do not directly show many discs, nerves, muscles, tendons, or ligaments. MRI, CT, ultrasound, laboratory testing, or specialist referral may be needed in selected cases.
What to expect
A clearer first step.
History
Describe the problem, injury mechanism, symptoms, and relevant medical history.
Examination
Complete the focused tests needed to identify concerns and likely structures.
Decide
Use imaging when it is likely to clarify diagnosis, safety, or treatment planning.
Common questions
Chiropractic Evaluation & On-Site X-Rays in Millburn, NJ FAQs.
General information cannot replace an individual evaluation. Call if you want to discuss your specific situation.
Does every chiropractic patient need X-rays?
No. X-rays are taken only when the history and examination indicate that imaging is likely to affect the evaluation or recommendation.
Can X-rays be taken in the office?
Yes. On-site X-rays are available at the Millburn office when clinically indicated.
What can an X-ray show?
It can show bones, alignment, degeneration, certain fractures, and other structural changes. It does not show every soft-tissue or nerve problem.
Will I receive an adjustment before imaging?
That depends on the history and examination. When imaging is needed for safety or diagnosis, it may be completed before treatment.
